Information You Send
A name, telephone number, or address entered into a search box is handled by the outside provider that supplies the result path. Auburn Residents Directory does not retain a separate copy of those searches. A message sent to us contains the information included in that message, and it is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine hosting logs can include an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and time of access. We review those signals in aggregate to maintain the service and understand general page use. Cookies or comparable tools may be used for basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Data Is Used
Limited information supports operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page maintenance. We do not sell visitor lists or construct individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Links lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and outside search services. The privacy policy of the destination, not this policy, applies to information submitted there. That includes sponsored search results supplied by a third party.
Data Recipients
Hosting and support providers may process routine server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners can receive the automatic data described above. Information is disclosed in response to valid legal process when required, and not for other reasons.
Security Practices
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are kept only for the purposes described above. No visitor account, password, or personal profile is created here. New York’s SHIELD Act, General Business Law section 899-aa, addresses data-security and breach-notification duties; it is not a public-record deletion process.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a visitor under 18. Contact us if a minor has sent information so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on the applicable law, visitors may ask to access, correct, or delete personal data a service keeps. The reviewed New York sources did not identify a broad statewide consumer-data deletion right or universal data-broker opt-out. Because Auburn Residents Directory keeps little data, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and relevant logs. Use the Contact page to make that request. Records held by New York, Cayuga County, or Auburn custodians remain under those offices’ procedures.
Policy Changes
Any revision will appear on this page. Continued use after a posted revision indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
